DHL, the world's leading express and logistics company, and Lufthansa Cargo, the world market leader in international air freight, yesterday commenced operations on five new international routes to give customers extra uplift and more intercontinental flights between Asia, Europe, the Middle East and the US.

The new routes will deliver faster transit times to more destinations, and give customers even greater control over their freight and express logistics.

Specific route details are:

• East Midlands - Cincinnati - East Midlands

• Brussels - New York (JFK) - Brussels

• Cologne - Bahrain - Singapore - Delhi - Cologne

• East Midlands - Cologne - Hong Kong - Sharjah - Cologne - Bergamo - East Midlands

• Cologne - East Midlands - New York (JFK) - Cologne (introduced July 2003)

The routes will be operated by Lufthansa Cargo MD11 freighters and will provide the following services:

From Asia:

• Next day delivery to key European destinations
• 2nd day delivery to all business centers in Europe
• Next day delivery to Dubai

From Europe:

• 2nd day delivery to most Asian destinations
• Next day and 2nd day delivery to the US

From the Middle East:

• 2nd day delivery to most Asian destinations

From the United States:

• 2nd day delivery to all business centres in Europe
